Warranty

The manufacturer, Maxxmar™ Window Fashions, warrants all blinds and shades under a Lifetime Limited Warranty. This warranty covers and is inclusive against any defects in material and workmanship to the original purchaser of the product. This warranty does not cover any damage caused by, or resulting from, misuse, abuse, alterations or excessive discolouration due to sunlight or passage of time, humidity, exposure to salty air, change in atmospheric conditions or corrosive materials. This warranty also does not apply to conditions caused by normal wear and tear.

HEADRAIL/MANUAL COMPONENTS/BRACKETS:
All moving parts in all manually operated products are covered by the Lifetime Limited Warranty under normal use (as detailed above).

FABRICS/MATERIALS:
Pleated, Roman, Cellular, Roller, Dual Shades, Opera Shades, Sunset Shades, and Panel Tracks are covered under normal use for a period of five (5) years. This warranty does not cover curling, soiling, scratching, normal fading or loss of colour intensity from use. Wood and Faux Wood Blinds are covered under normal use for a period of three (3) years against cracking, peeling, excessive fading, and extreme loss of colour intensity or warping. This warranty does not cover variations in texture or colour grain, nor does it cover the product(s) if installed in areas of high humidity.

GENERAL:
In the event of a defect under this warranty, the original purchaser of the product must notify the retailer, NorthShield Blinds, immediately upon detection. The retailer will return the product to the manufacturer, Maxxmar™ Window Fashions, to determine whether the defect is covered. Once determined, the product will be either repaired or replaced. If it is not covered under the warranty, then the manufacturer will advise the retailer of the repair cost, as well as alternative options to address the problem.

PRODUCT & CHILD SAFETY:
Comprehensive bilingual warning tags, stickers, and installation labels are on all manufactured custom products. Consumers are strongly advised to refer to the important safety issues concerning product and child safety. Do NOT place cribs, childrenʼs beds, or any furniture near any window treatments. Please read installation instructions thoroughly. Install ALL supplied safety hardware exactly as indicated – including, but not limited to, cord cleats, tension devices, and cord weights. ALWAYS ensure there are no closed cord loops accessible or within reach of children or small pets.

CLEANING:
All products can be easily maintained by occasional light dusting with a feather duster, soft cloth, dusting mitt, or brush type attachments on vacuums. With the exception of wood blinds, which should never be cleaned with water, use a damp lukewarm sponge to wipe the product with light strokes.

The Manufacturer, Maxxmar Inc. warrants Vinyl Shutters of the New Era™ Shutter Collection against defects in materials for the duration of the life of the product (25 years). Due to the inherent nature of metals, hardware and hinges are only covered for operation, not finish.

This Lifetime Limited Warranty will take effect from the date of the completed shutter installation at the address identified in the attached Registration Certificate. In order to be validated, this Registration Certificate must be filled in by the Original Owner and installer and received by Maxxmar Inc. no later than thirty (30) days after the completed installation. This will ensure that the Original Owner is entitled to this Lifetime Limited Warranty.

The manufacturer’s obligations under this warranty shall be limited to the repair or replacement of all or any part of the shutters that were determined to be defective under normal wear and tear.

This warranty does not include any conditions or damage resulting from accidents, alterations, misuse, abuse, misapplications, fading or discolouration over time, fires, or floods.

The manufacturer reserves the right to discontinue or change any shutter or shutter component as currently manufactured. If an exact replacement
part is not available, the manufacturer also retains the right to substitute parts of equal quality at their discretion.

This Lifetime Limited Warranty on the frame and panels shall remain in effect only if normal cleaning practices are followed periodically. Vinyl shutters require little maintenance – however, surfaces may become dirty over time. Normal maintenance requires washing with mild, non-abrasive detergent that must not contain ammonia, and water, using a soft cloth. Hardwood shutters should never be exposed to humid, wet conditions, as this will result in hairline cracks and other imperfections.

The manufacturer offers a limited warranty of five (5) years on all Maxx Motor products and controls, commencing from the date of order. The manufacturer will repair or replace defective equipment at their discretion, but shall not be held liable for any injury, loss, or direct and consequential damage arising out of the inability to properly use the equipment.
